My name is Emilie Wammen, founder of MeMoon.dk.

I’m a solo travel expert, consultant, and explorer driven by one core belief: traveling alone can be one of the most empowering experiences we give ourselves. I hold degrees in Sociology and Anthropology, which have shaped my understanding of human behavior, culture, and the social dynamics that influence travel experiences.

I’ve traveled to 73 countries—35 of them solo—giving me both personal insight and a deep understanding of what solo travelers truly need, fear, and seek.

Alongside my own travels, I bring nearly a decade of experience as a freelance tour leader on hiking trips in destinations such as Nepal, Greenland, and Albania, guiding hundreds of travelers through transformative journeys.

Professionally, I have spent five years working with tourism at a national strategic level in Denmark, providing a strong foundation in industry development and market insight.

Today, I work independently across three areas:
- Supporting aspiring solo travelers through 1:1 sessions, helping them move from hesitation to confident, meaningful journeys
- Delivering talks and presentations, sharing insights, inspiration, and practical guidance on solo travel
- Advising tourism businesses—particularly hotels—on how to attract and serve solo travelers, a diverse and often misunderstood segment

In November, I will publish a solo travel guide designed to help more people explore the world on their own.
